About
I'm Sasha Galitzine. I work with communities on cultural projects and exhibitions in unusual sites across London. My projects include ‘Pompe’ boat-led procession along Regents canal, ‘Closer to the Veg’ a show of artist and plot-holder collaborations across Highgate allotments and ‘Salon 63’ an exhibition across ten hair and beauty salons along the number 63 bus route.
I am driven by working for and with local communities to identify and develop new opportunities for artists and collaborators.
My goal is to empower, excite, and unite people from different backgrounds. My curatorial approach is playful and collaborative.
Through the creation of joyful, memorable art encounters, I hope to bring people closer to the capabilities of their imagination and creativity.
Current Project
I am currently the campaign lead on Gerry’s Pompeii, a site-specific and extraordinary visionary environment built by the late Gerard Dalton in his one bedroom social housing flat and garden and along the Grand Union Canal in West London. I lead a largely voluntary team, and work closely with the local community towards trying to secure the environment and preserve this site as a heritage site for both the local and wider community to enjoy.
